Inventory
On the day of your 3D HomeScan appointment, an experienced and professional camera operator will walk through your property recording everything in each room. The process uses image recognition software, powered by Matterport, to produce an interactive 3D video of your property in such detail, it serves as an insurance-approved visual inventory of your possessions plus your property’s architectural details, both inside and outside, weather permitting. 3D HomeScan is always included when you choose AVI’s All-Inclusive package, or our Appraisal-Only package. It’s available as an option with our Estate Planning and Settlement package, and it is also available as a stand-alone service. Your video will be stored in your own secure account with AVI. It’s as simple as that!
Ordering Optional Appraisals
3D HomeScan allows you to tag specific items in your home or commercial property’s interactive video to order optional appraisals either before or after a potential claim. The technology is so powerful, it gives us everything we need, including exact measurements, to create accurate, certified appraisals. These insurance-approved appraisals can be used to create or update an existing valuable articles policy on your homeowners or property insurance. And they are especially useful for documentation in case of a claim, ensuring you get paid what you deserve.
Appraisals are also important when using 3D HomeScan for Estate Planning and Settlement. Our proprietary tools allow you to allocate your personal property to each beneficiary before your death and to know the total value of each gift. All appraisal activities meet Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP)¹ and IRS reporting guidelines.

In the unfortunate event you have to file an insurance claim, especially in the case of a total loss due to a catastrophic event, your 3D HomeScan video can be used to produce an accurate claim for your insurance carrier. We can even repeat your scan to document the damage, if desired. AVI can use your 3D scan to reconstruct your inventory and provide appraisals on any of your high-value assets, even after a total loss. AVI will also be available to assist you in building your claim, saving you the expense of a public adjuster.
